PRESENTATIONS
"Real Life SciFi: Creating Tomorrow's Tech Today" (modified for any level)
Description: Have you ever wondered how science fiction writers create advanced technology in their stories? The best sci fi is based on today’s tech! Study examples from the YA Science Fiction novel, GOING GREEN to see how new tech can be created.
"Raising the Stakes: Things to Think about When Writing a Sequel" (middle school, high school, adult)
Description: Why are some sequels so good and others end up ...letting us down? Explore factors to consider when writing the next story in a series and what has to be done to "raise the stakes" and keep the reader actively engaged in the story.
"Productive Plotting" (high school or adult) (also offered as a writing workshop)
Description: Beginning, middle, end ... it seems simple but it can feel daunting. Learn to use a systematic approach to break writing into manageable-sized chunks, where desired word count, story stages, and turning points each play a role when outlining your writing.

WRITING WORKSHOPS
"Creating Tension with Technology" (can be modified for any level)
Description: Learn how to take a piece of current technology and creatively advance it several generations to create a tech that could be used in the future. Then, focusing on this futuristic tech, you’ll develop a short science fiction story.
If you prefer something different, let me know. I'd love to create something engaging and educational for your group.
